Responsibilities:
- Participate in and provide input on commercial negotiations with the Government of Mozambique and Project Partners.
- Contribute to the formulation of negotiation positions from a commercial standpoint. The incumbent drafts internal memos/summaries for the VP-Project Governance and the Business Development Manager.
- Liaise with Project Partners, in coordination with Legal and other teams as necessary, in relation to ongoing commercial matters.
- Participate in the fulfillment of mandatory reporting and corporate obligations of the Project’s Special Purpose Entities (SPE’s).
- Ensure the provision of regular updates for the Business Development Manager and Project Partners regarding the status SPE’s reporting and corporate obligations.
- Ensure the preparation and submission of the Project’s quarterly and annual activity reports to the National Petroleum Institute.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Business or Law (however not a practicing attorney), Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
- 10 or more years business experience preferably in Oil and Gas, Energy or Heavy industry.
- Business experience in African Countries, preferably In Mozambique.
- Preferred business experience includes:
- Regular interaction with governmental agencies.
- Commercial/negotiating experience.
- Mining or forestry or energy (power, oil & gas, pipeline) – commercial/business related or operations management.
- Business leadership/management or entrepreneurial business experience.
- Fluent in both Portuguese and English.
